AI prices: what each one costs in Spain

The official euro prices of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity, with the day they were checked and the contradictions I found.

A while ago I wrote about how to decide whether paying for an AI is worth it, but I did not put a single price in it. Here they are, taken from the official pages, viewed from Spain on 4 September 2026.

Before the table, two warnings that are worth more than the table.

These prices expire. Replace them with what you see yourself before paying. The links go to each provider’s official page.

They are not clear even among themselves. While checking I ran into contradictions between official pages of the same company, and prices that only appear in dollars. I explain that at the end, because it is as useful as the numbers.

What you get for paying

ChatGPT. The jump from free to Go is more messages and more files. The jump to Plus is a different matter: the models that reason better, deep research, and twice the context, which is how much text it can hold in mind at once. There is monthly payment only: OpenAI offers no annual consumer plan.

Claude. Here there is a discount for paying yearly: 15 € a month against 18 €. It includes tools that are not in the free plan, and around five times more usage. It is the only one that expressly warns that the price excludes tax.

Google. The strangest one to read, but the one that gives most for the money if you were short of storage: 5 TB across Gmail, Drive and Photos for 21.99 €, shareable with five other people, and with YouTube Premium Lite inside. If you need space as well as AI, the sums change.

Microsoft. It does not sell “Copilot” on its own: it comes inside Microsoft 365. For 10 € a month you get Copilot inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, not in a separate window, plus 1 TB. An important warning for anyone sharing it at home: on the Family plan the AI is for the account holder only, not for all six users.

Perplexity. Good for searching with sources. But I opened their page from Spain, it displays in Spanish, and the prices are still in dollars. I am not telling you what it comes to in euros because they do not publish it.

The contradictions I found

Comparison articles do not usually mention this, and it is what can cost you most.

Google contradicts itself. The “Google AI Plus” plan appears on two official pages on the same day with two prices and two storage amounts: on one, 4.99 € with 400 GB; on the other, 9.99 € with 2 TB. Both are Google’s, both were live. I do not know which one you will get. Check it inside your own account before paying.

The expensive plans do not state their price. ChatGPT Pro says “from 103 €”, Claude Max “from 90 €” and Google AI Ultra “from 99.99 €”. In all three cases there are tiers above whose price does not appear.

Nobody clarifies whether the price includes VAT, except Anthropic, which says it does not.

How to choose without losing your mind

Before paying anything, two questions:

How many times a week has the free plan actually stopped you? If the answer is “almost never”, that is that: do not pay. The free plans of 2026 go a long way.

Is what you need AI, or storage? If your inbox is full and your photos have nowhere to go, Google’s plan solves two problems with one payment. If you only want a better AI, you are paying for terabytes you will not use.

And a warning that applies to all five: these are subscriptions. They renew themselves. Note the day you sign up in your calendar and decide consciously whether it is still worth it, rather than finding out a year later on your statement.

If what you want to know is which one is better for your particular case, rather than what it costs, that is in the comparison between ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. And if you are going to pay for one, be clear first about what information you will not give it.
